HC Deb 21 November 1912 vol 44 c479
76. Major HOPE

asked how many employed contributors in Scotland have been permitted to pay the reduced contributions under Clause 47 of the National Insurance Act, and how many of these are agricultural labourers?

Mr. MASTERMAN

It will not be possible to give the number of employed contributors in Scotland to whom the provisions of Section 47 apply until the first quarter's cards have all been received and scrutinised, but 554 employers have adopted the provisions of the Section, 206 of these in respect of farm servants.

Major HOPE

Can the right hon. Gentleman say how many employés these figures represent?

Mr. MASTERMAN

Not until the cards have been examined—a few weeks hence.
