HC Deb 20 November 1912 vol 44 c282
60. Mr. BRIDGEMAN

asked whether an insured person, residing in England, who is an old member of a Welsh friendly society branch, may remain a member of that branch for the purposes of the National Insurance Act, or must he seek admission to another society or branch?

Mr. MASTERMAN

In the circumstances stated, the insured person should join an English branch of his society, or a society approved in England, for the purpose of the National Insurance Act, unless the Welsh branch is prepared to keep two sets of accounts in the manner contemplated by Section 83 (3) of the Act. He need not, of course, in any case terminate his membership of his branch for purposes outside the Act.
