HC Deb 19 November 1912 vol 44 c102
28. Mr. KING

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware that on 11th November the schoolmistress at Peaslake Church of England School, in Surrey, distributed, after the religious instruction, bills of a Conservative meeting to the children present, and told them to make it known to their parents; and whether, under the Code, it is allowable to spend the time of a public elementary school in political activity?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. J. A. Pease)

I have no information with regard to the matters referred to in the first part of the question, but I am making inquiry. The answer to the second part of the question is, of course, in the negative.
