Sir PHILIP MAGNUSasked whether some approved societies require as a qualification for membership that the applicant, not employed by way of manual labour, shall sign a form certifying that he has a total income, including earnings, not exceeding £160 a year, and stating that persons whose total income, including earnings, exceeds £160 a year are not qualified to be insured; and, if so, what action he proposes to take in the matter?
