§ 8. Mr. MORRELLasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can give any information as to the agreement recently made between France and Spain with regard to Morocco; whether it 1001 has yet been approved by His Majesty's Government; and, if so, whether they have received assurances that the new Customs tariff in the Spanish zone will not be less favourable to British trade than that hitherto existing?
§ Sir E. GREYI understand that the agreement, though its terms have been settled, has not yet been signed, and it has not been communicated to His Majesty's Government. In any case, the Customs tariff for British trade in Morocco is regulated by treaty, and cannot be altered without the consent of His Majesty's Government.
