HC Deb 04 November 1912 vol 43 cc817-8
15. Mr. CHARLES BATHURST

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether he is aware that it is the general opinion among sheep breeders, to which expression was given at the recent meeting of the council of the Hampshire Down Sheep Breeders' Association, that a national quarantine station is impracticable so far as sheep are concerned; and whether the Board share this view?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I have not as yet received any representations on this subject from the association to which the hon. Member refers. I recognise that special difficulties attend the quarantining of sheep, but I do not think that it is impracticable.
