HC Deb 21 May 1912 vol 38 c1740
Mr. LANE-FOX

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when the names of the Welsh Commissioners to be appointed under the Established Church (Wales) Bill will be given to the House; and whether he can give an assurance that they will, in accordance with the Irish precedent, be all three members of the Church in Wales?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. McKenna)

I am unable to make any statement at present.

Mr. W. PEEL

Can we assume, at any rate, that a Welsh Nonconformist will not be appointed?

Mr. McKENNA

No, Sir.

Mr. LANE-FOX

Shall we have the information before the Committee stage comes on?

Mr. McKENNA

No, I think not. It is a matter that can be properly discussed on the Committee stage.

Mr. LANE-FOX

Can we have the information before the Committee stage comes to an end?

Mr. McKENNA

I think so, but there may be a certain amount of difficulty in finding suitable persons, therefore I should not like to make any definite promise.
