HC Deb 21 May 1912 vol 38 c1729
Mr. BOLAND

asked whether, in the recently issued Consular Report from Rotterdam, the tabular statement contains no record of ships imported; and whether, in view of the fact that a passenger steamer of 32,000 tons and two cargo boats of 10,000 tons have been ordered by the Holland-America line from Messrs. Harland and Wolff, of Belfast, as stated on page 7 of the Report, directions will be given that when these vessels have been delivered they will be entered as imports from Ireland in the next ensuing Consular Report?

Sir E. GREY

His Majesty's Consul at Rotterdam can base the statistical tables given in his Report only on the official statistics of the Netherlands, which do not record purchases of sea-going vessels or include them as imports. All, therefore, that the Consul could do was to note the fact separately.
