HC Deb 21 May 1912 vol 38 c1742
Mr. BRIDGEMAN

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether the voluntary schools in the Isle of Man do not receive financial aid to The extent enjoyed by other public elementary schools in the island, and that as a consequence of such differential treatment the children and teachers in such schools are placed at a disadvantage; and whether he will recommend the Governor to place before the island legislature proposals for placing the voluntary schools on a satisfactory footing and for carrying out such other educational reforms as shall put the island schools in a position equal to that enjoyed by public elementary schools in Great Britain?

Mr. McKENNA

I have no sufficient information on the subject, but I will communicate with the Lieutenant-Governor of the Isle of Man.

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

Will the right hon. Gentleman let me know the result of his communication?

Mr. McKENNA

Certainly.
