HC Deb 21 May 1912 vol 38 cc1736-7
Captain MURRAY

asked whether it is proposed that officers of Customs and Excise should undertake certain duties in connection with the administration of the National Insurance Act; and, if so, what is the nature of those duties?

Mr. WEDGWOOD BENN

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. If my hon. and gallant Friend would be good enough to put down a question on the subject after the Whitsuntide recess, I hope to be able to give him more detailed information as to the proposed duties than is possible at present.

Mr. JAMES HOPE

Will they have any increased remuneration. They are already over-worked?

Mr. WEDGWOOD BENN

I could not answer that question without notice.
