HC Deb 16 May 1912 vol 38 cc1290-1
Mr. BONAR LAW

May I ask the Prime Minister whether he can make any statement about business. I should like to ask him also whether he can now state definitely whether there is to be an Autumn Session, and, if so, whether it will be long or short?

The PRIME MINISTER

On Monday we shall take the Post Office Vote in Committee of Supply;

On Tuesday, the Board of Trade Vote;

On Wednesday, we shall ask the House to sit at twelve o'clock to take the Motion for the Adjournment of the House.

When the House resumes on Tuesday, 4th June, Supply will be taken. I hope to announce next week what Votes will be put down. In answer to the latter part of the right hon. Gentleman's inquiry, our present intention is that the Session should run on for a few days in August, and then the House should adjourn until October.

Mr. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAIN

Can the Prime Minister say when he proposes to resume the discussion on the Report stage of the Budget Resolutions; there is a very important matter outstanding?

The PRIME MINISTER

I cannot say at this moment. I hope very soon.

Mr. AUSTEN CHAMBERLAIN

Will you give us notice.

The PRIME MINISTER

Certainly.

Mr. EUGENE WASON

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that neither the Fishery Board Report, nor the Congested Districts Board Report, nor the Education Report for Scotland have been issued; and will he see that Scottish Supply is not taken in the week we reassemble after Whitsuntide?

The PRIME MINISTER

I cannot say what Supply will be taken. Whatever is done will be done after consultation. The points raised by my right hon. Friend will certainly be considered.

Ordered, "That the Proceedings on the Established Church (Wales) Bill have precedence this day of the Business of Supply."—[The Prime Minister.]
