§ The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for INDIA (Mr. Montagu)The answer to the first question is in the negative. The Government of India have under their consideration a scheme for the formation of a Women's Indian Medical Service which was submitted to the Secretary of State by certain ladies interested in the practice of medicine; but they have not yet expressed their opinion upon it.
§ Mr. FORSTERCan the Under-Secretary say how soon the Government of India will come to a determination on the question?
§ Mr. MONTAGUThere is a considerable amount of interest manifested in it, and I telegraphed this morning asking when we might expect a reply.
