HC Deb 14 May 1912 vol 38 c966
Mr. CASSEL

asked whether waiters employed in hotel restaurants will be treated as shop assistants under the Shops Act, 1911; and whether he has received any representations on this subject?

Mr. McKENNA

I am advised that persons wholly or mainly employed as waiters in hotel restaurants are shop assistants within the meaning of the Act. As regards the second part of the question, I would refer the hon. and learned Member to the answer which I gave on Thursday last to a question by the hon. Member for Harwich.
