HC Deb 14 May 1912 vol 38 c943
Mr. KING

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether moneys derived from the revenues of India had been devoted to the erection of Christian places of worship; if so, whether any such cases had arisen since 1905; if so, how many; and whether any Christian places of worship erected since 1905 with moneys from the Indian revenues had been consecrated either with Roman Catholic or Anglican rites?

Mr. MONTAGU

The answers to the first two parts of the question are in the affirmative. I am unable to answer the third and fourth parts without reference to the Government of India, but shall be glad to ask them for the necessary information, and will inform my hon. Friend when it is received.
