HC Deb 14 May 1912 vol 38 c963
Mr. FRED HALL (Dulwich)

asked the Postmaster-General whether, as he has expressed himself satisfied that no serious grounds of complaint exist in regard to the methods adopted for the transmission of goods through the post, he will undertake that compensation shall be granted in cases of damage to parcels while under the control of the Post Office?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

Compensation is paid by the Post Office in respect of parcels damaged in the post, provided that the conditions shown in the published Regulations are complied with.

Mr. F. HALL

May I suggest to the right hon. Gentleman that there should be an increase in the amount allowed for the losses on these parcels?

Mr. SPEAKER

The hon. Gentleman is not allowed to make suggestions.
