HC Deb 14 May 1912 vol 38 c944
Mr. ASHLEY

asked why all the medical units of the City of London Territorial Force Association were to have their headquarters and train outside their geographical area, at the Duke of York's headquarters, Chelsea?

Colonel SEELY

All the units of the City association are outside the City area except the 1st London Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, which will also shortly move out of the City boundaries. It was considered impracticable to find headquarters within the City boundaries.

Mr. ASHLEY

May we take it that it is entirely on the question of expense that these officers and men are compelled to spend a considerable amount of time and money of their own in going outside their territorial area?

Colonel SEELY

There are a great many considerations involved, but it is quite true that the question of expense comes in. If the hon. Gentleman would like to confer with the authorities on the subject we shall be very glad to have his views.
