HC Deb 13 May 1912 vol 38 c795
Mr. PETO

asked whether, in view of the importance of the duties that will devolve on the certificated officers of the mercantile marine in connection with the working of the Seamen's National Insurance Society, he has now decided to have a representative of the Merchant Service Guild, of which more than half of the certificated officers of the merchant service are members, on the Advisory Committee; and, if so, if he can state who will be the representative of that body on the Advisory Committee?

Mr. MASTERMAN

The Advisory Committees, as constituted, have already commenced their work of assisting the Commissioners in framing regulations; and it is impossible to add further members to their number. I understand that there will be a representative of masters and mates on the committee of management of the Seamen's National Insurance Society.
