Major WHITEasked whether, under the Government of Ireland Bill, there is any obligation on the Irish Executive to continue the grant of £28,000 per annum to the Queen's University, Belfast; and what safeguard he proposes to ensure that the provisions of the Irish Universities Act, 1908, are duly carried out?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEThe Irish Executive will have the same obligation to pay £18,000 per annum to the Queen's University, Belfast, when voted by the Irish Parliament as the United Kingdom Executive have to pay that sum now when voted by the United Kingdom Parliament. The payment of £10,000 now paid out of the Church Temporalities Fund will also depend on the action of the Irish Parliament.
