§ Sir E. GREYWe have heard that the Government of German South-West Africa, have granted to the local Chamber of Mines permission to import from the Indian Empire 1,000 coolie emigrants for employment in the mining industry. As to whether or on what conditions the Government of India allows or is likely to allow Indian labourers to emigrate under indenture, I would refer the hon. Member to the answers given by the Under-Secretary of State for India on the 30th April to the questions on this subject by the-Members for the Isle of Wight and for the Orkney and Shetland Isles.
