KINLOCH-COOKEasked the President of the Board of Trade whether 20 he is aware that the Ghent Exhibition will be supported by German and French manufacturers who are constructing and designing machines and articles intended to compete with similar exhibits of British manufacture; that Germany and France have already signified their intention of being represented, while the Board of Trade have been considering the question of participation since last November; and whether, in view of the fact that many of the British machines and articles referred to will require at least a year's work to construct, he will consider the advisability of giving an immediate decision in the matter?
