HC Deb 28 March 1912 vol 36 c600
Mr. SHIRLEY BENN

asked what British dry dock accommodation is available for ships of the Royal Navy in the vicinity of the Caribbean Sea?

Dr. MACNAMARA

The only British dry dock in the vicinity of the Caribbean Sea is a small floating dock at Trinidad. This dock belongs to the Government, and is capable of lifting 4,000 tons. It is only suitable for docking small vessels, such as third-class cruisers.
