§ Mr. W. THORNEasked the First Lord whether his attention has been called to the wages paid by Messrs. Huntley and Palmer, Reading, to biscuit weavers, coal runners, and other men and women workers; and if he is aware that, in consequence of the low wages paid to the workpeople in question, they have joined a trade union, with the result that a number of them have been dismissed for such action; and, in view of the firm being contractors to the Admiralty, whether he is prepared to take action in the matter?
