§ Mr. McKENNAI am informed by the Commissioners in Lunacy that, although in certain asylums there has been some reduction in the hours of duty and some alteration in the other conditions of asylum officers' service, there has been no general alteration in these respects since the Report of the Select Committee. The Government cannot undertake to promote legislation on the subject. My hon. Friend is no doubt aware that the Bill which was considered and amended by the Select Committee has been reintroduced this Session.
