HC Deb 15 March 1912 vol 35 cc1495-6
The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. McKenna)

I beg to move, "That this House do now adjourn."

Mr. BONAR LAW

I understand the Prime Minister is detained at the Conference at this moment, but I am sure it will be a satisfaction to the House to hear anything the right hon. Gentleman can say in regard to the present position.

Mr. McKENNA

I should be very glad if I were able to say anything, but, as the right hon. Gentleman has said, the Conference is proceeding at this moment. It may possibly be adjourned until tomorrow, but, pending the present proceedings, it would be impossible for me to make any statement.

Mr. KEIR HARDIE

May I ask the right hon. Gentleman whether, in the event of Parliamentary action becoming necessary, that action will be taken on Monday or Tuesday?

Mr. McKENNA

Any question of that sort must be addressed to the Prime Minister himself. It is impossible for me to make any statement now. I beg leave to withdraw the Motion.

Motion, by leave, withdrawn.

Whereupon Mr. SPEAKER adjourned the House without Question put, pursuant to Standing Order No. 3.

Adjourned at Twelve minutes after Five o'clock till Monday next, 18th March.
