Mr. CATHCART WASONasked the Secretary for Scotland whether, in view of the fact that the Post Office provides a three days a week open-boat service (between the islands of North Ronaldshay and Sanday) which is unsatisfactory and affords no facilities for passengers and produce, he will inquire of the North of Scotland Steamship Company how many trips to North Ronaldshay from Kirkwall the company makes in the year on an average; and on what terms the said company would undertake a regular fortnightly service to North Ronaldshay from Kirkwall?
Mr. McKINNON WOODI would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to him on Monday by the Postmaster-General. The facts as to the inadequacy or otherwise of the existing communications are doubtless within my hon. Friend's knowledge, and I shall be glad to consider any representations he may wish to make.
