HC Deb 12 March 1912 vol 35 cc939-40
Mr. FELL

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what harbours or territory are offered to this Country in exchange for Walfisch Bay and Zanzibar in connection with the proposed arrangement with reference to the exchange of these British ports?

The SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Sir Edward Grey)

I must refer the hon. Member to the answer that I gave on the 22nd of February, which should, I think, set at rest anxiety on this subject, as far as the House is concerned.

Mr. FELL

Has the right hon. Gentleman noticed, notwithstanding his previous reply, the continual references in the Continental Press to the proposed exchange of these two places?

Sir. E. GREY

No. I have not seen the continual references, but the reply which I gave on the 22nd February fully safeguards the rights of this House.
