§ Mr. WATT
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that final notices for the payment of taxes under Schedule A were issued on 26th February in Scotland giving seven days in which to pay, after which costs would be added; and, if so, will he say on what date similar notices were issued in England, and particularly in the London district?
§ Mr. MASTERMAN
No general issue of final notices takes place on a specific 951 date either in England or in Scotland. Such notices would have been largely issued in both countries by 26th February. Owing to the greater amount of work entailed, it is improbable that in London seven-day demand notes were sent out by that date.
