HC Deb 11 March 1912 vol 35 c810
Mr. KELLAWAY

asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the fact that the Admiralty is the largest buyer of South Wales coal, he will consider the advisability of informing the South Wales coal-owners that in future the Admiralty will only make contracts for the purchase of coal with firms who pay an adequate minimum wage to their men?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Churchill)

The Admiralty are not aware of any change which would necessitate an alteration in the course which they have hitherto followed.
