§ Mr. O'GRADYasked the Postmaster-General whether he can state if any vacancies exist at the present time for relay clerkships; if so, whether they will be recruited from the ranks of the sorting' clerks and telegraphists; and, if not, whether he can state in what manner any existing vacancies will be filled?
§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELNo further appointments will be made to the class of relay clerks; and the work at the relay stations will in future be done by sorting clerks and telegraphists and overseers temporarily detached from certain large offices to which the relay stations will be affiliated.
