HC Deb 20 June 1912 vol 39 cc1818-9
7. Captain CRAIG

asked whether a poster has recently been placarded in Wexford calling upon Irishmen to arm themselves so as to be ready, when England in the near future is involved with a big war with Germany, to break away from England; and what steps have been taken to trace those responsible for the notice, and whether any arrests have been made?

Mr. BIRRELL

The police authorities inform me that some posters of the nature referred to were found placarded at Enniscorthy and Wexford. The police have made close inquiry into the matter, but so far no arrests have been made.

Mr. FFRENCH

Who supplied the funds to put up these placards; what Unionist Association was it?
