asked how many of the old first-class teachers still await their turn to be taken on the pension establishment for the special pension attaching to their class; how many of these obtained promotion prior to the year 1895; and how many vacancies in the establishment of this class have occurred within the last five years?

If the hon. Member refers to the first division of the first class, the number of teachers in Ireland still awaiting their turn to be taken on the pension establishment for 1 (1) pension is 452. The number who obtained promotion prior to the year 1895 is 245. The number of vacancies in the 1 (1) establishment in the five years ended 31st December, 1911, was eighty-three.
