HC Deb 18 June 1912 vol 39 c1480
38. Mr. NORTON-GRIFFITHS

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if the national coal reserves depleted during the recent coal strike have been replenished; and if, in future, adequate coal reserves, sufficient to last through any likely national stoppage of work, will be maintained?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Churchill)

So far from the reserves having been depleted during the recent coal strike, the stocks were well above the normal at the close of the strike. In reply to the second part of the question, the hon. Member may rest assured that the Admiralty will do all that is necessary in the circumstances.
