HC Deb 17 June 1912 vol 39 c1293
15. Mr. CHARLES DUNCAN

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the Order recently issued at the Royal Naval Hospital, Haslar, regarding the hours of employment being the same as those worked by dockyard employés is to apply to the men employed as mess men, who at present work seven days a week, at an average of about 73 hours, for a wage of 23s. per week?

Dr. MACNAMARA

The Order does not apply to mess servants. They are employed for seven days a week, and are on duty a maximum of 61 hours, exclusive of public holidays. The wages are as stated.
