HC Deb 17 June 1912 vol 39 c1312
55. Sir JOHN LONSDALE

asked the Postmaster-General if he will state the reason for placing the Irish Post Office stores branch under the control of the Birmingham office; and if he will give an undertaking that the facilities for securing contracts previously possessed by Irish manufacturers will not be diminished in consequence of the change?

Captain NORTON

As I have repeatedly stated in this House, the Irish Post Office Stores Branch has not been placed under the control of the Birmingham Office. On the point referring to stores contracts, I refer the hon. Member to my reply to a question by the hon. Member for College Green on 20th ultimo.

Mr. MOORE

What has the change referred to been?

Captain NORTON

I do not think it advisable to read the reply. The hon. Member can refer to it.
