HC Deb 13 June 1912 vol 39 c1029
14. Captain CRAIG

asked the Chief Secretary if he will recommend the Irish Insurance Commissioners and the Board of Trade to employ members of the police force and ex-members who have applied for appointments, if suitable; have many such applications been received from members of the Royal Irish Constabulary; and will he endeavour to find employment for these men, who have always served the State well?

Mr. BIRRELL

A number of applications from members and ex-members of the Royal Irish Constabulary for appointments under the Insurance Act have been received, and will be duly considered with those of others. I shall be very glad to hear of the success of any of the constabulary candidates.
