HC Deb 13 June 1912 vol 39 c1052
62. Mr. FREDERICK WHYTE

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he can state the number of requests made to the Local Government Board for Scotland by local authorities for assistance in preparing schemes under the Housing, Town Planning, etc., Act, and the names of the local authorities making such requests; the number of schemes actually prepared and submitted to the Board; and the number of such schemes which have been approved by the Board?

The SECRETARY for SCOTLAND (Mr. McKinnon Wood)

The Local Government Board for Scotland have been consulted with regard to proposed town planning schemes for the burghs of Bo'ness, Buck-haven, Clydebank, Dundee, Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Gourock, Inverkeithing, Leven, Pollokshaws, Partick, Rutherglen, and Wishaw, and for certain county areas in the suburban district of Edinburgh, the Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy districts of Fife, and the Middle Ward District of Lanark. Particulars were published recently in the Board's Report for 1911 (Cd. 6192 of 1912, pages lix.-lxvi). No schemes have actually been submitted for approval, but the Board have authorised the preparation of schemes for the burghs of Dunfermline and Inverkeithing, and hope to do so shortly in connection with three separate schemes for the burgh of Dundee.
