§ 10. Mr. MITCHELL-THOMSONasked whether the proposals for the representation of each of the three Powers on the Société d'Etudes for the construction of the Trans-Persian line have been accepted as satisfactory in principle by His Majesty's Government; and, if so, when Papers will be laid?
§ Mr. ACLANDThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second part, I think that no useful purpose would be served by laying Papers at present, because, as stated on the 6th inst., in reply to a supplementary question asked by the hon. Member for Burnley, there is so little that is definite to be said on the subject.
§ Mr. MITCHELL-THOMSONDoes not the hon. Gentleman think it proper that the main principles of the proposal should be laid before the House?
§ Mr. ACLANDI think it would be quite proper if Members of the House desire to Debate this subject, and they might secure an early date on the Estimates, or in some other way.
