HC Deb 04 June 1912 vol 39 cc41-3

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That a sum, not exceeding £37,300, be granted to His Majesty, to complete the sum necessary to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1913, for Expenditure in respect of Royal Palaces, including a Grant in Aid."—[NOTE.—£34,000 has been voted on account.]

Captain JESSEL

I should like to know if I should be in order on this Vote in referring to the front of Buckingham Palace?

The CHAIRMAN

Is there any money on the Vote for that?

Captain JESSEL

The Vote is one of £37,300 for Royal palaces, and Buckingham Palace is included.

Lord HUGH CECIL

The general policy of the Office of Works with regard to Royal palaces is included in this Vote.

The CHAIRMAN

I do not think it would be in order to discuss anything except the heads on which the money is to be spent.

Question put, and agreed to.
