HC Deb 31 July 1912 vol 41 cc2029-30
15. Mr. WILLIAM THORNE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he can state the amount of gross assessment for Income Tax for the years ending 1910, 1911, and 1912?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

The gross income brought under review for Income Tax purposes was as follows:—

Year. Amount.
£
1909–10 1,011.100,345
1910–11 1,045,833,775
Owing to the delay in passing the Finance Bill for 1909–10 the figures for that year are somewhat lower, and those for the year 1910–11 somewhat higher than they would have been in normal circumstances. The actual figures for the year 1911–12 are not yet available.
