HC Deb 19 July 1912 vol 41 cc680-1
31. Mr. BOOTH

asked the Secretary to the Treasury if he has investigated the circumstances connected with the boycott of Dr. Richards, of Winkleigh, North Devon, and the present condition of his practice and the service of the friendly societies which it includes; and what arrangements the Insurance Commissioners intend to make for medical service for such societies if the British Medical Association forbids a practitioner to serve the clubs in question?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I have nothing to add to the statements made by my right hon. Friend the Chancelor of the Exchequer in reply to questions by the hon. Gentleman and others on 15th May. The medical service referred to is not service under the Act, and the Insurance Commissioners have no power to intervene.

Mr. BOOTH

Have the Insurance Commissioners laid all the facts before the Advisory Committee?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I am not sure if these particular facts have been brought before the Advisory Committee.
