HC Deb 17 July 1912 vol 41 cc388-9
23. Mr. STANIER

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will appoint an agriculturist on the Departmental Committee which is inquiring into the question of tuberculosis?

Mr. MASTER MAN

I will refer the hon. Member to the answer given on 11th March to the hon. Member for West Clare. I would also remind him that the Committee has now made very considerable progress towards the completion of its task.

Mr. STANIER

As agriculture is deeply affected by this inquiry, does the right hon. Gentleman not think there ought to be a member representing it on the Committee?

Mr. MASTERMAN

It is not primarily a question concerning agriculture. It is for the Committee primarily to advise the Insurance Commissioners as to the work to be done in connection with tuberculosis.
