HC Deb 17 July 1912 vol 41 cc366-7
12. Mr. CHARLES DUNCAN

asked whether it is contemplated to hold an examination for assistant examiner; and, if so, how many members of the clerical staffs at the Admiralty and Royal dockyards possess the necessary qualifications to enable them to compete; and to how many have nominations been given?

Dr. MACNAMARA

An examination will shortly be held for the purpose of filling two posts as assistant examiner in the Naval Store Department. The qualifications required of candidates are that they should be serving in the Naval Store Department, that they should be under the age of forty, that they should have not less than eight years' service as writer, and that they should be recommended for admission to the examination by the head of the Department. In the present instance eight candidates possessing the necessary qualifications as to age and service have been so recommended.
