90. Mr. KING

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he can lay upon the Table of the House a Report of the negotiations and conferences with the French Government on the granting of pilotage certificates?

Mr. ACLAND

Communications with the French Government are still passing, and we are therefore not in a position to lay Papers at present.

Mr. KING

Will the hon. Gentleman give us the assurance that the Pilotage Bill will not be proceeded with until these negotiations are completed?

Mr. ACLAND

That does not arise out of the answer.

Sir G. PARKER

Are we to understand this Government has not given an assurance to the French Government that any pilotage will not be re-established which—

Mr. ACLAND
