HC Deb 15 July 1912 vol 41 c39
26. Mr. HUNT

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been called to the fact that Lloyd's has been obliged to insert a new Clause in insurance policies because of the increasing lawlessness of strikers; and whether he proposes to take any fresh steps to prevent the increase of this state of affairs and to prevent the attacks on men going to and from their work?

Mr. McKENNA

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. As to the latter part, the district is well policed, and the police have throughout the strike done all in their power for the protection of life and property.
