Captain CRAIGasked whether, in the case of persons already employed in other branches of the Civil Service being appointed to established positions under the National Insurance Act, such persons will carry the salary they may be in receipt of at the time of transfer, and whether their previous service will count towards pension?
§ Mr. MASTERMANIn the case of ordinary transfers the answer to the former question is in the affirmative, but in cases in which the transfer has involved promotion to higher duties an increase of salary proportionate to the increased responsibilities has been granted. Persons who are already established Civil servants who are appointed to pensionable posts under the Insurance Commission will be allowed to count their service as continuous for superannuation purposes.
