MARQUESS of TULLIBARDINEasked how much money was allocated in last year's Estimates for military manœuvres; how much was spent on manœuvres; and how was the balance disposed of?
§ Mr. TENNANTThe amount provided in Estimates 1911–12 for field training and manœuvres was £250,000, of which about £100,000 will be spent within the year. I am unable to separate the expenditure on different forms of training; but the main Army manœuvres contemplated in 1911 were not held. The balance became available for Army purposes generally.
§ Mr. TENNANTYes, undoubtedly.
