HC Deb 21 February 1912 vol 34 cc610-1
Mr. C. BATHURST

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture (1) when the Census of Production, so far as it affects agricultural produce and with special reference to the value of such produce, which was directed to be made in 1907, and in respect of which forms were circulated and filled up more than three years ago, will be issued by the Board; and (2) why in view of the fact that nine preliminary tables relating to mines, quarries, and factories have already been published by the Board of Trade in connection with the Census of Production inaugurated in 1907, no such tables relating to agricultural produce have yet been forthcoming?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of AGRICULTURE (Mr. Runciman)

The Report under the Census of Production Act relating to agricultural produce is in the Press, and will be issued very shortly. I regret the delay, but, with the limited staff at the disposal of the Board, it has been impossible to complete the examination of the Returns and the preparation of the Report at an earlier date.
