HC Deb 20 February 1912 vol 34 cc448-9
Viscount WOLMER

asked the Prime Minister whether he has considered the advisability of instituting the office of Minister of Labour, in order that industrial problems may be more adequately dealt with; and, if so, what steps he proposes to take?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Asquith)

I am not aware that industrial problems are inadequately dealt with by the Board of Trade and other responsible Departments, and I see no sufficient reason for considering the creation of a new office.
