§ 45. Mr. KINGasked the Prime Minister whether the Government has received the offer of Stafford House; if so, whether the offer has been accepted; and, if accepted, what is the destined use of the property?
§ The PRIME MINISTERHis Majesty's Government have received from Sir William Lever the offer of the remainder of the lease of Stafford House as a gift to the nation, subject to certain conditions. His Majesty's Government much appreciate the generosity of the offer, and are now considering the matter. I can make no further statement at present.
§ Mr. MOOREWill the right hon. Gentleman say how much the Government are giving Sir William Lever by a concession in West Africa?
§ The PRIME MINISTERThat surely is a most improper question.
