HC Deb 19 December 1912 vol 45 c1690
81 and 82. Mr. BOWER MAN

asked (1) whether the inquiry by the disciplinary board into the conduct of the two police officers Weatherall and Smith, who recently charged a journeyman printer named Chapman with assaulting them, such charge being dismissed by the magistrate, has been concluded; and, if so, with what result; and (2) whether inquiry has been made into the complaint of the man, Chapman, who was wrongfully charged with assaulting police officers Weatherall and Smith, and who complained that the officers had committed assaults upon himself and wife; if he can state the result of such inquiry; and whether it is intended to make any reparation to Chapman?

Mr. McKENNA

The case has now been referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions, and I can take no action pending his decision.
